Our Cocoa Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base is a creamy, white vegetable glycerin soap base made with real Cocoa Butter. It does not smell of Cocoa Butter so the aroma will not interfere with the fragrance or essential oils that you would like to add.

Melt & Pour Soap Bases are easy to work with, but it is important that you use care when heating them. We recommend using a double boiler to gently heat the base, and stir frequently. Don't leave the base heating on the stove after it's fully melted or it may dry out and form a skin.

SLS Free.

Comments: The cocoa butter melt and pour is without a doubt amazing! My customers really like the olive oil soap and I am sure that this will be a huge hit, especially with the fragrance oils that I just purchased.

Comments: I tried using the Cocoa Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base for the first time and it formed a skin before the individual cubes even melted all the way so when I poured it into the mold i ended up with skin chunks in my soap... and it was a little bit drying the first few times I used it!! But after a few washes it became less drying, and still has an ok lather... I think I would give it another try though!!!!

FNWL Response: Akilah, from your description, it sounds like you're heating the soap base at too high a temperature and/or leaving it on the stove too long without stirring. Use a double boiler to gently heat the base, and stir frequently. Don't leave the base heating on the stove after it's fully melted or it will dry out and form a skin.

Comments: Very hard to work with. Skins over very fast.

FNWL Response: Mark, I frequently work with our M&P bases and I do NOT experience the situation you describe and other customers aren't expressing the same situation. It sounds like you're overheating the bases. Try melting them at a lower setting and be sure you are using a double boiler. As an added tip, avoid using the microwave as that can dry out the soap.
