This book has some beautiful illustrations and interesting combinations of different additives and scent combinations to use when remilling your soap. It would not be my first choice in terms of a basic soapmaking reference however.

I thought this one had some useful information in it. I really liked the step by step pictures. Very helpful to see what each step should look like, but I have to agree... the recipes seem really expensive to make. I did like the tips and ideas for other toiletries that are in the book too.

I agree with the other reviewer. She actually has one or two statements in this book that are plain wrong -- and possibly dangerous (relating to doubling recipes, etc) Overall it would be a good book for someone looking for some nice (but expensive to make) recipes. She uses a lot of sandlewood EO in her soaps!

I found this book to be one of the best informational sources that I have on hand. I find it invaulable in my library of soapmaking tools.

This book was not what I was expecting. I wanted a primer on cold process and while there is some information, the focus seems to be on re-batching. Far more attention was paid to that than to anything else. If you are into rebatching then this is your book.

This is an OK book. It was the first soap book I used. Since that time I have found many others that I like much better. She does include some very nice recipes to make. The flaw is more what she leaves out of her book. I would not recommend this as a starter book, but rather one to reference for recipes once you have made a few batches of soap
