Calendula officinalis, most commonly known as the pot or common marigold, has been used to soothe skin-related concerns since the 16th century. Noted for their vibrant yellow-to-orange hue, the edible petals are prized by chefs as an alternative to saffron.

Calendula CO2 Total Extract is produced via CO2 Supercritical Extraction to produce a highly beneficial extract that can be used to incorporate the many benefits of Calendula into salves, ointments, balms, lotions, creams, lotion bars, and your other formulations.

Calendula CO2 Total Extract is prized for its wide range of remarkably soothing and beneficial skin care properties. We encourage you to research all the skincare benefits that calendula offers. The main constituents of the extract include faradiol esters, carotenoids, sterrols (sitosterol) and cuticular waxes.

Calendula CO2 Total Extract features a characteristic sweet, woody calendula aroma, dark brown hue and is typically semi-soft and waxy at room temperature.

To use Calendula CO2 Total Extract, you may need to warm the CO2 and your vegetable oil gently and then combine. The recommended usage rate is .1-0.3%. A little goes a long way with this remarkable extract.

Please Note: This CO2 Extract is typically used in conjunction with or in place of vegetable oils or vegetable butters within product formulations. Although it has a characteristic aroma, it should not be considered a substitute for essential oils, volatile CO2 extracts or natural aromatic ingredients that are primarily utilized for their volatile, aromatic components.  This product is solid at room temperature.

Comments: It's really hard toout of the container, wondering why you wouldn't put it in a container that's easier tothe product out of.

FNWL Response: Hi Jennifer, thank you for your honest feedback. Many people first gently warm the bottle before working with it. A challenge with the consistency of the Calendula Total is that it is a bit thick for bottles, but it can sometimes leak when packaged in jars with standard screw-top lids. We are always looking for ways that we can improve. Based on your comments, we are taking a fresh look at the optimal way to package our Calendula Total. Thanks again for your comments, Jennifer.

Comments: It was hard as a rock.

FNWL Response: Maria, as the product description states, Calendula Total CO2 is solid at room temperature. Gently warm it to work with it. A simple way to warm the Calendula CO2 is to place it in a shallow bowl of warm water until it liquifies.
