Chia Seed (Spanish Sage) Total CO2 Extract is obtained by supercritical fluid extraction using carbon dioxide as the solvent. The resulting fatty oil is stabilized with a natural rosemary derived antioxidant, composed of rosemary phenolic diterpenes and small amounts of natural mixed tocopherols and lecithin. Chia Seed CO2 is naturally rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids including 15-25% linoleic acid (C18:2) and >60% alpha-linolenic acid (C18:3). It is an excellent cosmetic ingredient that helps to maintain moisture in the skin and hair. It is a good choice for inclusion in anti-aging products and formulations intended for dermatitis. Chia Seed CO2 can be used at any percentage in the final product.
