Our pure avocado butter is expeller crushed from the fresh flesh of the avocado fruit and then hydrogenated to yield a soft greenish butter. This is a much softer butter than any of the other butters we carry. Avocado butter is a very rich, moisturizing treatment for the hair and skin, and it has some natural sunscreen properties. Use it in soap and skin care formulations at 5 - 20%. Use smaller amounts of avocado butter in lotion bars. This butter can be a little heavy and greasy, but it is definitely worth it in small amounts. Avocado butter is a good butter for belly balms, lip balms, eye makeup remover creams, hair conditioning creams, baby bottom balms and soap.

I didn't like the consistancy of the product. Don't know if was the heat that made it that way, but was looking forward to something more thick, more like butter, but instead it was more closer to liquid consistancy.
FNWL Response: Kerry, our Avocado Butter typically has a rich, thick consistency. If it was more liquid, it sounds like it melted during transit during this hot time of the year or that you may live in a hot climate without air conditioning. Store it in a cool, dry area and it should solidify again for you. Depending on the circumstances, you might need to wait at least a day for it to solidify. Some keep their butters in the fridge to ensure their butters stay cool.

I LOVE this delectable butter! I use it mostly on my 4a type hair right out of the shower. It makes it so soft and super shiny. I also use it on my skin for moisture and a lovely glow. It is sooo creamy, rich and moisturizing. The consistency is great, and a little goes a long way. I will definitely re-order.
