Turmeric root has been used in ancient medicine as a natural anti-bacterial to treat skin infections, boils, wounds and burns. It was pounded into a paste and then applied to the skin. The bright yellow color of the root, however, does stain the skin. Use turmeric powder in skin care preparations and to achieve a bright yellow natural color in your soaps and other formulations.

Something I: Purchased for Myself
I used some of this to color a batch of cold process soap. I was amazed at how fresh it was. I used about half the amount I normally would to achieve a nice yellow color. Great stuff!
