Geranium Essential Oil, Pelargonium graveolens, is considered to be a woman's essential oil because of its hormone balancing effect. It has been used to treat menstrual, menopausal, and infertility problems. Geranium Essential Oil helps relieve mastitis. It is useful in blends to aid wounds and burns. Geranium Oil is a good oil for skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and shingles. It is also emotionally balancing. It combines nicely with oils such as bay, orange, rose, bergamot, clary sage, sandalwood, lavender, chamomile, lemon and other oils. Geranium Essential Oil also acts as an insect repellent and can be used in outdoor lotion bars.

Location: Hobart, NY The scent and color of this essential oil was darker it is almost amber in color and very unpleasant to the nose. I use geranium in a lot of my face products, and this is not something I can use because it smells almost like a rotten flower rather than the pure, uplifting scent of geranium. The steam method of extract has obviously extracted too much material. I will not be using this particular oil from FNWL again.
FNWL Response: Nicole, it is not uncommon for pure, steam distilled Geranium Essential Oil to be amber in color. Pure, undiluted Geranium Essential Oil is quite strong aromatically. A little goes a long way. After receiving your review, I have re-examined the aroma of FNWL's Geranium Essential Oil from China and found the aroma to be especially pleasing. It's a floral with underlying sweet, green and fruity notes. It's likely that whatever product you are comparing FNWL's pure Geranium Essential Oil to is something that was already diluted way down or it was fragrance oil.
