Yarrow Hydrosol Add to Personalized Shopping List

Rate/Review This Product

Yarrow Hydrosol isn't the most aromatically pleasant hydrosol for some, but it's applications for emotional, skin care and spiritual use are significant and make up for its distinctive aroma. We certainly don't want to discourage you from experimenting with the hydrosol as some do find the aroma pleasant.

Yarrow is strongly anti-inflammatory and can help sooth irritated skin and ease aches and pains. It is also known for its use in helping to reduce varicose veins. Suzanne Catty mentions many other uses for Yarrow Hydrosol including using it is a sitz bath to ease hemorrhoids, easing menstrual cramps, using in a compress for rheumatic and joint pain, and for helping to treat problematic skin and acne. She states that it helps to stop bleeding and cleanse wounds, and can sooth sun and wind damaged skin.

Emotionally, Yarrow Hydrosol is calming and can help promote sleep for those with insomnia. Due to its distinctive aroma, we recommend combining Yarrow Hydrosol with Roman Chamomile Hydrosol or Lavender Hydrosol for a synergistic and aromatically pleasant blend.

Spiritually, Suzanne Catty mentions that Yarrow is recommended for spiritual or distance work.

Visit our Hydrosols category page for a detailed introduction to hydrosols. For more in-depth information on hydrosols and their many valuable applications, we recommend the book Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy Book by Suzanne Catty.

We ship our hydrosols in plastic to avoid breakage, but hydrosols should be transferred to glass as soon as possible. Like essential oils, hydrosols should be stored in a cool dry place. The shelf life of hydrosols is up to 2 years when they are stored properly. Hydrosols can be stored in the refrigerator. As required by law, our European hydrosols, including our Yarrow Hydrosol, are preserved using a very small amount of ethyl alcohol.
