Japanese Skin Care
The Japanese are very well known for their flawless skin. They have traditionally used natural botanicals and elements from the earth within their skin care regimens. Japanese men and women exfoliate gently using grains such as adzuki beans & rice bran, mineral rich clays from the earth, powdered sea vegetables that draw out toxins from the skin and powdered herbs. They moisturize using botanical oils such as Jojoba and Camellia oil and nourish the skin with apple cider vinegar, herbal teas, extracts and nutritive oils.
To create a Japanese exfoliating facial blend, choose a clay that suits your skin type and add to it powdered oats, rice bran or adzuki beans, powdered sea vegetables and any other herbs that are beneficial for your skin type. Add a small amount of jojoba, rosehip, kukui nut or camellia seed oil and enough water to make a thick paste. Massage gently into the skin in a circular motion. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
"I use (and love, love, love!) your Pearlesecent Micas which get me compliments all the time, from coworkers to makeup artists at swanky cosmetic counters. It's cool because people are always asking me where I bought my eyeshadow and it's satisfying to say, "I didn't buy it-- I made it!" As someone with a darker-than-medium skin tone, it's great to be able to blend my own colours that actually show up on me, e.g., 1 part Golden Glow to 1 part Matte Orange = "Yummy Peach"."
