Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is obtained by supercritical fluid extraction using carbon dioxide as the solvent. The resulting oil is greenish brown in color and has the beautifully fragrant yet mild, characteristic aroma of chamomile. Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract contains 7-17% essential oil and possesses 20-45% bisabolol and 5-20% bisabolol oxides. It also contains 1-3% matricine (analysed as chamazulene). Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract acts as a noteworthy anti-inflammatory when used at 1-3% in anti-inflammatory salves and skin care products.
