Allspice essential oil, Pimento officinalis, is similar in composition to clove leaf oil and has a warm, spicy aroma. It has been used traditionally to relieve aching joints and muscles. It is a warming oil which helps improve circulation and digestion, helps reduce cellulite, calms the nerves and promotes sleep. Use in a massage oil or muscle rub, being careful to dilute properly. It can be diffused to help relieve chest congestion. Allspice essential oil blends well with ginger, geranium, lavender, orange, patchouli and ylang ylang.
Use sparingly and well diluted on the skin because it can cause irritation.
