Organic Menthol Crystals are clear, colorless, crystals that are obtained from steam distilled peppermint oil. They possess a powerful peppermint aroma and give a cooling sensation to balms and rubs. Our Menthol Crystals are soluble in both oil and alcohol. Menthol Crystals are typically used at 5-20% in balms, liniments, ointments, and rubs to lend a cooling sensation. As an inhalant, Menthol Crystals can be added to chest rubs to help support clear respiratory passages.
