The Douglas Fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, is a majestic evergreen conifer that is most commonly found on the Pacific (Western) side of the United States and Canada (British Columbia). The state of Oregon has denoted the Douglas Fir as its official state tree.
Our invigorating Organic Douglas Fir Hydrosol is meticulously produced by expert artisanal distillers who distill specifically for the hydrosol. It is not distilled as a byproduct of essential oil production. Distilled using copper alembic stills, our Organic Douglas Fir Hydrosol possesses a light yet rejuvinating, crisp, coniferous aroma. It does not have the unpleasant "still note" that hydrosols can have when they are produced using stainless steel equipment. Distillation using copper stills may also help the hydrosol be more resistant to microbial growth.
Organic Douglas Fir Hydrosol is light, yet uplifting and balancing. It is highly versatile and can be used for a variety of applications on its own, or as a natural ingredient in a wide range of formulations. It is well suited for inclusion in natural fragrances and other water-based personal care, holistic aromatherapy and home fragrancing products.
This beautiful hydrosol is a wonderful addition to formulations intended for use any time of the year, but it's also perfectly suited for inclusion in winter, Christmas and seasonal formulations.
As with all of our organic ingredients, our Organic Douglas Fir Hydrosol is certified organic by CCOF, a USDA-accredited certifying agency.

We ship our hydrosols in plastic to avoid breakage, but hydrosols should be transferred to glass as soon as possible. Like essential oils, hydrosols should be stored in a cool dry place. The shelf life of hydrosols is up to 2 years when they are stored properly. Our Organic Douglas Fir Hydrosol does not contain any preservatives. Hydrosols can be stored in the refrigerator.
*Typical Shelf Life begins on the date of manufacture and is defined as the typical shelf life of an ingredient when it is stored and handled properly. The Typical Shelf Life is offered as a general guideline. It should not be considered to be an expiration date. Many ingredients are usable beyond the stated date, especially when stored and handled very carefully.
