Description:

Dead Sea Salt is a mineral-rich salt that contains Potassium, Magnesium and Bromide. It is widely used in bath, body and foot care formulations where mineral content, texture and exfoliation are desired.

As an exfoliant, Dead Sea Salt helps remove surface buildup and provides a more pronounced scrubbing action than many sugars, nut meals and other exfoliating ingredients. It is well suited for use in body scrubs, foot scrubs, body polishes and other rinse-off exfoliating formulations. Because salt can be comparatively abrasive, we do not recommend it for facial exfoliation.

Dead Sea Salt is also well suited for bath salts and soaking formulations. It may be used on its own or blended with other salts to create customized bath and foot soak products. Blending it with other salts can also help formulators balance ingredient cost, appearance, texture and the desired character of the finished product.

For artisans who are new to formulating bath salts, Dead Sea Salt can serve as a simple base ingredient. It may be used as is or incorporated into more complex formulations with compatible fragrance, color and other ingredients appropriate for the intended finished product.

Our Medium Grain Dead Sea Salt ranges in particle size from 1.8 mm to 3.4 mm. It is slightly larger than our Fine Grain Dead Sea Salt and somewhat smaller than typical pretzel salt. Our Fine Grain Dead Sea Salt, sold separately, is approximately the size of table salt. Both grain sizes are suitable for bath salts, foot scrubs and body polishes. The Medium Grain size is especially useful when a more visibly textured salt is desired in the finished formulation.
